Bacon... It's What's for Dessert

Keep your eyes open for the March Issue of Orange Coast Magazine,
where Jason's famous Caribbean Rumaki will be featured in the
"Bacon... It's What's for Dessert"! article.
The photo shoot just took place today at Jason's Downtown Venue,
and the shots are top secret until the magazine hits the stands.
What isn't top secret, however, is the description of the Rumaki, a long-time favorite of Jason's Catered Events Clients.
Jason's Caribbean Rumaki
Ripe Plantains wrapped in Applewood Smoked
Bacon and baked in a Brown Sugar Glaze
A wonderful guilty pleasure!

Jason talks FISH!

At Jason's Catering, we often have clients that are interested in understanding a little more about the fish they'll be serving at their event. We recently sat down with the coolest fish monger in the world, Tom, from Ingardia Brothers, and he gave us the bottom line on all things "Fish".

You would like WHITE FISH for your Wedding? Corporate Party? Social Event?

What's White Fish?
According to The American Heritage Dictionary
white·fish (hwtfsh, wt-)
n. pl. whitefish or white·fish·es
a. Any of various chiefly North American freshwater food fishes of the genus Coregonus, having a generally white or silvery color.
b. Any of various similar or related fishes, such as the lake herring, whiting, or menhaden.

Tilapia,sole,cod, pollock?
Lake Superior White fish?
Halibut? Ono? Orange Roughy? Mexican Sea Bass?

All of those fish fall under the "white fish" category, but they are definitely not all the same quality. Because, at Jason's Catering, we pride ourselves on educating our clients, we want you to know your various options. You've got fish in the list below that ranges from $2.99/lb. to $16.99/lb.
Because we get fish from all over the world, we'll share the scoop on your specific fish choice.

What about Salmon?
Farm Raised Local Salmon?
Farm Raised Norwegian Salmon?
Wild Loch Duart Scottish Salmon?
At Jason's Catering, we serve Loch Duart Scottish Salmon,, "The finest Scottish Salmon comes from the cold, clear waters of Sutherland where a unique, low-volume and sustainable rearing system produces lean, fit fish of exceptional quality."

According to the God Fish Monger, Tom, from Ingardia Brothers, a well-known restaurant just got fined for misrepresentation of fish. He said, "Caterers can misrepresent fish and, often clients won't even know."

As our client, you'll always KNOW because we'll tell you the truth about what you're eating... come on over! Your fish is searing right now.
