Bring on the tacos! Jason joined 21 chefs once again this year to raise money for Save Ourselves Charity. He created a one-of-a-kind Lobster and Thai Basa fish taco with a Maui onion potato chip and mango salsa. Gourmet Fare with Flair!
THe Wild and Crazy Taco Night had 650 supporters and raised 33,004 to help feed OC residents at risk of going hungry. SOS provides 300 bags of groceries per week... sadly, that is up 40% from a year ago.

At Jason's Catering, we often have clients that are interested in understanding a little more about the fish they'll be serving at their event. We recently sat down with the coolest fish monger in the world, Tom, from Ingardia Brothers, and he gave us the bottom line on all things "Fish".

You would like WHITE FISH for your Wedding? Corporate Party? Social Event?

What's White Fish?
According to The American Heritage Dictionary
white·fish (hwtfsh, wt-)
n. pl. whitefish or white·fish·es
a. Any of various chiefly North American freshwater food fishes of the genus Coregonus, having a generally white or silvery color.
b. Any of various similar or related fishes, such as the lake herring, whiting, or menhaden.

Tilapia,sole,cod, pollock?
Lake Superior White fish?
Halibut? Ono? Orange Roughy? Mexican Sea Bass?

We had the opportunity to chat with Carin, one of our all-time favorite clients! We created a customized entire vegan wedding last summer for Carin and Burt, and she said, "Everybody was blown away."
"One of the things that we worried about the most," Carin said, "was the fact that most of our guests weren't vegan and we didn't want their first vegan experience to be a negative one." She wanted the food to be SO good that no one even suspected that the food was anything but gourmet wedding faire.

So.. what's the report?
"Not only did the wedding guests LOVE the food that Jason and his team created, but very few guests suspected that the food was vegan. I had considered choosing an exclusively vegan caterer but decided that Jason's Catering had so much culinary experience that there wouldn't be anything they couldn't pull off just as easily."

We asked her about the service. Her answer?
"Both Jason and Natalie worked tirelessly with me to get the menu just right and really paid attention to the details which is really important when you're a ingredient reading freak like I am. On the day of the wedding, the operations team took care of everything and I can't imagine any wedding having a less stressed out bride."
